Hi, I just wanted to ask a question and start up a discussion on composting or waterless toilets in Bushtracker vans. The composting toilets can extend your stay in the bush by not having to go to a dump point every 3 days or so. Composting toilets are also environmentally friendly by using no chemicals at all. Can these toilets be sourced for use in Bushtracker vans to help extend our stay in the bush ??? Very Happy

In the design phase we can talk about it. We would rather make appraised of all the pros and cons of this, rather than just the sales gimmicks..

It is the fad right now with some Greenies, but it does not work well and we will rather not get involved in it. On a previous Bushtracker where they wanted to try this toilet, we left a blank space where you could put it in yourself. Then we can make provision for you to retrofit a normal good quality cassette loo if it doesn't work out. You can use non-toxic additives like Napisan or others talked about in the Owners Section, and dig a hole in the Bush... Also there are "Dump Points" available all over these days...

If you go this way, have them frame in the wall for the proper access door to retro fit a good loo later. We do not want to get involved in things that do not work well.

Look, I have locked this Topic in the General Discussion area, because this is really something that should be talked about in the Owner area under TIPS ON DESIGNING YOUR NEW BUSHTRACKER...

And one more thing: WELCOME TO THE FORUM, POST NUMBER 1 !

Kind regards, Admin, at Bushtracker
