I don't know very much about it other than where it is. Have been told you can't get to the NP because access is through private property and the owner will not allow access.
Stand to be corrected.

http://www.adavalestore.com.au/

The Adavale site seems to promote the gorge as a viable place to visit. Can be done as day trip from Adavale or have to arrange with NP to camp there

Thanks for the update. Might venture out there myself sometime.
Adavale is a most interesting town, it will not take you long to see the sights!!!
Idialia National Park is also worth a visit not that far away.

Thanks for replies. Quilpie Shire has apparently built access road and is promoting the area.Advice is to leave BT in Adavale and do day trip...1 hour 80 km.Will be there next week and will report latest.
Cheers. Ted

Here's an extract from the National Parks of the Cooper Creek catchment brochure.
Hell Hole National Park
Featuring the mulga lands bioregion,
the 12 700 ha Hell Hole Gorge National
Park is centred on the rugged Powell Creek
drainage system and its associated plateau.
Water shapes this landscape today,
dissecting ancient mountain ranges,
eroding tablelands and shifting sand
and gravel to carve steep channels.
Deep, permanent waterholes, rock pools,
cliffs, gorges and gentle plains are home
to many rare or important species.
This park has no vehicle access, formed
tracks or visitor facilities. There are no
public roads into the park.

Thanks the Devils,
With due respect I think that info is rather dated. Things are moving in Adavale !! Will report next week .
Cheers. Ted
