Hullo Steve
The previous owners of my 2002 18' van have done a great job of replacing the interior lights with effective and economical LEDs.
However, they did not do the outside awning lght, a Fiamma LUX L9.
Given your (somewhat daunting) instructions above, I am wondering, with the passing of time, if there is a straight substitute LED globe now available that suits this fitting?
Any help appreciated.
Regards

LEDs have never quite overtaken the West German Resolux, even in the outdoor model it is the tops for light at power cost.... In other more scientific language, the cost per lumen (light measure) in power, is still in favour of the looped flouro light.
In summary: By the time you get the same quality of light, it is no power savings over the Resolux.. Have a look at what we put on all new Bushtracker vans right now, and the flood effect of that exterior Resolux light, whether it is reflected off the underside of the awning or not, is the leader in light for power cost...
The LEDs are focused and directional, but lack that flood effect... |
