Gday fellow BT explorers...

We are thinking of selling our 1999 16ft Bushtracker.
Since the last trip it’s been tucked away in a shed for 10years.
Now we have kids, so we’re thinking of a new van with bunks rather than retro fitting this one.

It’s in very good shape, internally looks and smells like new.
Externally it’s great, a few small blemishes here and there but nothing major.

No leaks or water damage!

My Question is... What’s the going rate for something like this?
Yes it’s 21 years old but it’s in unbelievable condition!

I suggest you look at what other BT’s are advertised for, remembering what’s asked is not necessarily achieved.

My view is the age is going to dictate the price not so much the condition.

Some photos would help your sale

Good luck

Hello GypsyKats,

Just be aware, all the tyres are way out of date and illegal aged. All the electronics are well past their Use By dates. Refrigeration, air conditioning, stove, everything there is well out of date. Batteries, charger, solar, regulator, battery charger, everything.

People come to us all the time with older vans and they normally spend $10,000 to $20,000 to upgrade all of the above. The record for a 16' in upgrades including adding an ensuite with renovations and all new gear, and everything else is about $30,000. Now while that sounds like a lot, people spend the Standard Price with all of our normal Standard Inclusions, like $125,000 and then add on may another $20,000 in extras. THAT is why they are fixing up the older Bushtrackers... The bones are so good in the chassis and structure it is worth doing..

Hitch, suspension, spring packs, everything, brakes, bearings, and all. I would suggest you would spend about the $20,000 mark to fully update such a van with everything I have listed that needs to be done.

The only other problem you have is if it is White Teak panelling, you need to call the Office and have them check to see if that is still available..

Best of luck with it all. It is worth rebuilding and upgrading. There is a Category here on the Forum UPGRADING OLDER BUSHTRACKER VANS.. There will be a lot of help there for you..

Kind regards, Director, Bushtracker
